Universal platform
SDS is designed to control processors across brands and generations, provided their protocol can be represented through a machine definition and adapter.
A universal control platform for broadcast processors. SDS can be adapted to legacy and modern hardware through machine definitions while preserving the same familiar layout, workflow and core functionality.
SDS is built as a universal processor-control platform, capable of supporting hardware from different manufacturers and generations. Even older processors can be brought into SDS once their machine definition and communication layer have been implemented.
The processor-specific definition changes; the SDS working environment does not. Layout, navigation, metering philosophy and core workflow stay consistent, so moving between supported machines does not mean learning a completely different control application.
The processor changes; the working environment does not. Machine-specific definitions map controls and metering into the same SDS layout. The interface shown here is the current IDT Sound Design implementation.

Processor-specific controls, metering and communication are implemented behind SDS, allowing new hardware support without redesigning the main GUI.
Whatever processor is connected, SDS keeps the same layout philosophy, navigation and core functionality so the operating experience remains familiar.
IDT Sound Design SD266 / SD280 support is implemented today. An Orban Optimod 8200 is an example of a processor SDS can support once its machine definition is developed; it is not implemented yet.
To build accurate machine definitions, SDS needs access to the original hardware. If you can lend or donate one of the processors below, you can directly help expand SDS support.
Needed to complete the machine definitions for the IDT 4.00 release. Without access to a CIB 4.00 card, the 4.00 hardware mapping cannot be completed and verified properly.
Wanted for protocol research and development of a future SDS machine definition. Optimod 8200 support is not implemented yet.
Equipment can be shipped insured to SDS and returned insured after the required research and verification work is finished. Donations are, of course, very welcome too. ;-)
